At Elite Podiatry Centre, we can treat your fracture from start to finish
From diagnosing to evaluating the type of fracture sustained.
Imaging may be required to confirm and assess the extent of the fracture, or a referral for surgical opinion when indicated. Depending on the type of fracture, a period of immobilisation and offloading is often required which can include the implementation of CAM boots, fibreglass back slab casts or full below knee casting if required, and then finishing with rehabilitation and gradual progressive exercises to regain strength and mobility.
Common types of fractures that occur within the foot and ankle include:
- Stress fracture
- Ankle (talus) fracture
- Heel (calcaneus) fracture
- Lisfranc injury
- Metatarsal fractures
- Toe (phalanges) fractures
